The horizontal peeler centrifuges offered at Pioneer Air Systems are designed with a horizontal axis of rotation and a cylindrical drum. Our technology has a larger capacity compared to vertical peeler centrifuges, making it more suitable for large-scale industrial applications where large quantities must be processed.
Horizontal peeler centrifuges rely on centrifugal force and gravity to separate solid and liquid components of a mix. Horizontal separators are easier to maintain, but require regular cleaning and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Disc stack centrifuges are the most widely used type of centrifugal separators and certainly the most popular at Pioneer. Our technology includes a rotating drum with multiple stacked discs that create a series of chambers. The feed mixture is placed in the separator, and the drum spins at high speed to create centrifugal force. The heavier component of the mix will move towards the outer edge of the drum and collect on the discs, while the lighter elements will move towards the center and exit through a discharge outlet. Disc stack centrifuges are used to separate liquids with a slight difference in density.
Decanter centrifuges are similar to our disc stack technology but have a more extended drum and larger diameter. The feed mixture is introduced into the separator and is spun at high speed, creating centrifugal force. The heavier component will settle at the bottom of the drum, and the lighter component will move toward the center and exit through a discharge outlet. Decanter centrifuges are used to separate liquids with larger differences in density.
Pioneer’s basket centrifuges consist of a cylindrical drum with a perforated basket inside. The feed mixture is placed in the basket, and the drum spins at high speed, creating centrifugal force. The heavier component will settle at the bottom of the basket, and the lighter component will exit through the perforations.
Pioneer also offers vertical separation technology to compliment our horizontal centrifuges. Vertical peeler centrifuges are more suitable for smaller-scale applications and laboratory use.
The advantages of Pioneer’s moisture separation technology are unmatched. Check out just a few:
Pioneer offers centrifugal separators in a wide range of designs to suit different requirements. From continuous dewatering operations for food and beverage manufacturing to wastewater treatment plants, including horizontal solid bowl decanters, vertical solid bowl decanters, and tubular bowl decanters, we have the specific needs of your project covered.
Pioneer’s separators are low maintenance compared to other devices used for particle separation. Regular inspections should be performed to check for wear or blockages to ensure optimal performance over time. Pioneer’s advanced automation options can also be implemented into modern centrifuges through sensors or control systems, allowing operators to collect real-time data and ensure operations run smoothly.
Pioneer’s centrifugal separators are highly efficient in separating liquids from liquids, solids from liquids, and gases from liquids. They use high centrifugal force to move the denser particles to the outside of the spinning drum or bowl, while the less dense materials remain in the center. This results in a clean and efficient separation for your application or industrial facility.
Centrifugal separators are an efficient solution for industrial facilities looking to achieve particle separation cost-effectively. They also minimize downtime due to maintenance needs and come with automation options for remote monitoring capabilities. For these reasons, it’s no surprise that businesses turn to Pioneer for our centrifugal separators.
