CO2 Dryers

Providing Equipment That Improves the CO2 Purification Process

Providing Essential Equipment for the CO2 Purification Process

Because carbon dioxide (CO2) is in the atmosphere, it naturally exists in compressed air. Like humans can breathe in low concentrations of CO2 without harm, its presence does not negatively impact most compressed air applications. However, some applications require CO2 to be removed to maintain functionality. Pioneer Air offers the industry’s most efficient and reliable CO2 dryers to protect your critical systems, downstream equipment, and end products.

Our CO2 scrubbing and capture technologies remove carbon dioxide from your compressed air systems and processes using microporous, aluminosilicate minerals. We can design, manufacture, assemble, and program indoor and outdoor CO2 dryers to your precise requirements. And because we develop all our carbon capture technology to operate in the most efficient way, you’re not only reducing carbon dioxide emissions but also your energy usage. Pioneer is also a leading supplier of desiccants and filters, making us your single-source for all carbon dioxide purification needs.

Pioneer Air Systems provides a 10-year warranty for all workmanship and CO2 dryer equipment we design and manufacture.

What Applications Require the Removal of CO2 From the Air?

Pioneer’s CO2 dryers have two very specific applications. One is CO2 compression from natural resources and flue gas, where you take the carbon dioxide then filter and dry it for use in carbonated beverages. Factories vaporize dry ice and convert it into a product used at gas stations. The other application, which is rapidly growing, is used at enhanced oil recovery facilities. These facilities use carbon dioxide to move oil well boards in tertiary recovery. By using anthropogenic carbon dioxide, you can gain substantial tax credits. But to earn a tax credit, the oil field must maintain set standards. To do that, Pioneer’s CO2 purification process separates CO2 that comes back with oil, removes the hydrocarbons, and then dries it for reinjection.

What Are the Benefits of Pioneer’s CO2 Dryers?

When you use a Pioneer Air dryer to capture CO2, you gain several advantages, including:

  • Keep your compressed air systems, processes, and end products protected from the damaging effects of carbon dioxide.
  • Lower carbon dioxide down to 10 or 1 parts per million or lower depending on the requirements
  • Moisture content is lowered to .5 parts per million in your compressed air system.
  • Ability to operate at very high pressure
  • Carbon capture and storage limits your impact on the environment

Converting Your Captured, Clean CO2 Into Revenue

As governments around the world look to reduce greenhouse gasses and emissions, clean, dry CO2 is becoming a lucrative commodity. When you use Pioneer’s carbon dioxide dryers for the CO2 purification process, you can also use the system to capture and store it.

Once you remove particles and have clean CO2 gas, you can sell it in the form of tax credits, often referred to as carbon offsets. The Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change has strict compliance standards you must meet for the sale of clean CO2, which highlights the importance of following the best cleaning method practices for CO2 scrubbing and sequestration.

Offering On-Site Services

If your CO2 dryer is facing issues, Pioneer offers on-site services to return your system to peak performance.
